Candy Cane Oreo Stuffed Sugar Cookies

TGIF!!!  I love Fridays!

I don’t know where you live but the weather here this week has been beautiful.  The sun’s been shining and it was so nice to get outside for a walk.  Usually this time of year we have snow on the ground and I’m warming up under my heating blanket.  I hate the cold weather and I would jump at the chance to live somewhere where it was hot year-round.  I would only want snow for one day – Christmas!

Even though we don’t have any snow yet, I’m getting in the Christmas spirit.  I’ve already made and froze my Chocolate Biscoff Truffles and these Candy Cane Oreo Stuffed Sugar Cookies were next on my list.  I found these Oreos in the US and wanted to eat them right away.  Then I figured I could stash them away until at least December but, obviously, that didn’t happen!  I’ve seen so many recipes that stuff chocolate chip cookies that I decided to do something different.   I’m also freezing these and hoping that I’m not tempted to raid the freezer before the holidays!  We’ll see….

Enjoy your weekend!

Homemade Coconut Larabars | A Sweet Baker

Homemade Coconut Larabars

Lately I’ve been trying to eat healthy and I’m trying to avoid any processed food. It’s actually not that hard but when it comes to having a little sweet treat there’s always added sugar and things I can’t pronounce. When I first tasted Larabars I loved them but at $1.69 each I knew I had […]

Cheesy Quinoa and Spinach Bake | A Sweet Baker

Cheesy Quinoa and Spinach Bake

A few years ago my husband made a tri-color quinoa dish that was so tasty.  One layer was red (from sundried tomatoes), another layer was green (from pesto), and the final layer was light brown (from plain quinoa).  It was a time consuming dish to layer all the ingredients but the final dish was so […]

Pineapple Cupcakes with Strawberry Mousse Frosting | A Sweet Baker

Pineapple Cupcakes with Strawberry Mousse Frosting

Sunday was my Dad’s birthday and to celebrate I made these Pineapple Cupcakes with Strawberry Mousse Frosting.  They were so moist and flavorful and the mousse frosting was the perfect addition. My family and I are not big frosting/icing fans so using this mousse as the frosting was the perfect solution.  I don’t know why […]

Homemade Strawberry Nutri Grain Bars | A Sweet Baker

Homemade Strawberry Nutri Grain Bars

It’s that time of year again when I’m starting to run out of homemade snack ideas.  Even though I just had a break from baking treats/snacks, I feel like a need some new ideas and inspiration. I want my kids to have a little treat in their lunch everyday but I also want it to […]

Doodle Your Pillsbury Toaster Strudel | A Sweet Baker

Doodle your Pillsbury Toaster Strudel and Win! #Strudelgram

Just hearing the word ‘morning’ makes me cringe. I am not a morning person and I hate getting up to an alarm.  Making everyone breakfast during the week is the last thing on my mind when I wake up.  I just want to be left alone to get ready for work and get the kids […]

  6. These are super cute and festive! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a nice comment – I’m now following you on FB… have a great weekend!

  7. These look so delicious. What a sweet surprise to bite into one of these and discover an Oreo cookie inside. I have a friend who works for Nabisco, so I better ask her what stores carry these peppermint flavored ones because I’ve never seen them. Maybe she can get me some boxes if I bribe her with this recipe! Thanks for sharing on our Holiday Cookie Recipe Swap! BTW, I enjoyed your comment about the weather. I live in the southeast Texas area, so we only get about one inch of snow every five years. My kids would do anything for a white Christmas! Meanwhile, we hung our Christmas lights wearing shorts and bare feet because it was so warm this week. (And Easter always marks the first day the kids can start swimming again.)

  8. Mmmmm minty sweet chocolate! Nothing better! :)
